I made this custom apple apron this week that was a gift for a little girl who was turning 3. It was so fun to do. I've never made an apron before. I mostly followed this pattern. The one thing I did different was I drew my own pattern for the apron body. I used one of my daughter's aprons as a loose template because I wanted it to be a little more girly and have a bit more style. I even bribed my daughter with cookies to take some photos wearing the apron - my favorite mothering technique ;)
She couldn't keep her hands out of the pocket. So cute!
And here's a silly shot...
Of course now she wants an apron of her own. She already has three, but she wants me to make one for her. I love that she is still at an age where she likes me to make her things, so I may oblige especially since mommy wants an apron too!
In other news, we are moving in a few days. Yikes! Thankfully it's not far at all, but we are knee deep in boxes none-the-less! I am not a serial mover, this will be my third move ever! It also means that my trusty sewing machine is put away again. I can't remember the last time I used it as little as I have this month. That can only mean one thing: I have some sewing time to make up for after next week! And, believe me, I'm looking forward to it. Especially since I will be getting a little sewing room in the new house! Yay! I can't wait!
Wow I really love that apron! How cute!
